About Our Organization
The Savannah State University Wesleyan Gospel Choir Alumni (SSU WGCA) was created by former members of the Savannah State University Wesleyan Gospel Choir who desired to continue the legacy and fellowship established during their time in the choir.
The alumni choir held its first reunion concert in 1997 at Second Arnold Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. The next reunion followed approximately thirteen years later in 2010 at First Jerusalem Baptist Church. Later in 2016 and 2018, the alumni reunion was held at the West Broad Street Seventh-Day Adventist Church, both in Savannah, GA. These reunions have provided opportunities for alumni to reconnect, foster professional networks, and unite their voices once again in the spirit and sound of Wesleyan.
In 2021, a small group of Wesleyan alumni recognized the importance of supporting the current Wesleyan Gospel Choir in ways that may not have been available to them during their time as students. Inspired by the compassion and dedication of the choir’s founder, Mr. Gerron D. Miller, this group committed themselves to continuing his legacy of musical and spiritual excellence.
